An Itinerant Observer: The book & going past

An Itinerant Observer began as a slim book of short narrative portraits - quiet observations of people, places, and fleeting human intersections across cities and continents. First published in 2014 and reprinted by Bookgroup in 2020, these pieces marked the beginning of a longer inquiry into movement, belonging, and what it means to notice. This space holds selections from the original book alongside newer writings that move past it - shaped by time, return, loss, and practice. Together, they form a living archive rather than a closed volume: the same observer, still itinerant.

The following pieces first appeared in An Itinerant Observer and remain central to its spine.

These later writings were created after distance and return - where the observer remains, but the questions deepen.

NOTE: All 22 stories/chapters from the original book as well as newer stories (as part of the next iteration, Journal of an Itinerant Observer) shall ultimately be published on this blog.
